Caroline Ann

So, its obviously been a LONG while since I updated and I'm taking the opportunity while she's napping on the playmat to type something quick.  (we'll see how long it lasts b/c its close to time to eat again)

I try to keep some informed via email and texts with info and pictures.  Caroline Ann was born April 4 at 9:02pm weighing 8lbs and 21 inches long.  She lost 8 oz and 1/2 inch after she was born and at our 2 week checkup (to check her growth) she had gained 11 oz and grew 1/2 inch.  I can tell she's been growing (especially those fussy days when the poor girl probably hurts) and its amazing to see just her facial changes each day and week.  Some days I'll wake up and look at her and go "oh my - your lil face changed AGAIN!"

As hard as the no sleep and getting used to everything has been I still would never change this for anything.  She is such a precious gift from God that we are so blessed by!  She does bring us joy each day and we thank God for His grace to us to give her to us to care for.

Before we know it she'll be crawling and moving about.  I had her on the playmat this morning for tummy time and she (before) would scoot across by pushing off our hand with her feet.  Today, she was scooting little by little on her own.  She goes sideways and forward.  She did roll over one night (I think around 2 or 3 weeks old) to her back while on the playmat.  Once that really gets going, look out! :)

Each day we learn something new about her and what she wants.  Just when you think you have things down, she throws a curve ball and says "hey, guess what this means!"

We started putting her on her belly to sleep (I know...GASP!) yesterday because she was not happy unless she slept on us on her belly (mommy can't sleep in the living room every night).  I was told by a friend both her girls did that so I figured - we survived growing up that way - back when that's what the doctors told our parents and with how much she's been spitting up lately, I'd rather chance her not turning her head (which she does VERY well) then choking on her spitup.  She's still in the bassinet in our room so I just reach over and feel her little head from time to time to make sure she's ok and she's perfect!

Thank you all for your prayers during this new transition in our lives and thank you for the love you've shown toward us as a family and especially to precious little Caroline.

We can't wait for everyone to meet her!
