No Momma! No!

No = Snow

Caroline has gotten very excited for the snow and was bummed when it was gone.  I love the pictures of her looking out the deck door.  While I am not quite ready for snow, it is, after all, the middle of November.

The first morning she saw the snow she asked for her boots....before getting dressed and before eating breakfast.  I told her we didn't have any WINTER boots for her, just rain boots.  I got a very defeated "oh" from her.  When we had our day out Saturday together, I looked....but I couldn't bring myself to buy winter boots at this age for $30!!!  Her feet are small (size 8) and she isn't to the growing point of wearing things year after year so....NO!  XYZ Store, you can keep your over-priced toddler boots. (I even said that to Caroline in the store in front of 2 other ladies looking for a family member.  Seriously....THIRTY DOLLARS?!?!)

I love this one - She picked out her clothes and I asked her if she picked the pants because of the packets "mmmmm, yup!"  She had her hands in her pockets most the day.

Each day is a joy with this kiddo.  The things she says, the faces she makes, what she does....her big heart just keeps getting bigger!  We are beyond blessed (and spoiled) with her!

Snow, snow, go away...

I've had enough of winter this year.  We took this today after church....been snowing all day....again....this is how much we have AFTER some has melted...on our deck.

Blah!

Snow....

I'm eager for spring so I can start my FIRST real garden...it'll be a ton of work but I can't wait!

This snow feels like its closing in on us.  Our neighbor plows but it's a blade behind his tractor.  With a road that's not too wide to start with it really closes in when the snow piles on each side and Luther doesn't give extra space.  :). He has plowed our driveway each time too!  As the piles get higher I feel more and more claustrophobic.  Its beautiful to look at though.

It of course had to be a record year for both cold and snow when we moved....super!  Very thankful Ron's job is flexible and he can work from home on those bad days.  And I'm thankful I stay home.

Here are some pictures of our deck.  I put the phone at the bottom window of our door....we have at least 1 1/2 feet I'd say...and a few inches melted with the freezing rain in last Wednesday's storm.  Needless to say, we haven't used the hot rub much lately.  :(

Snow, snow, go away...

...don't come back another day...

Ron didn't go to work Wednesday...couldn't get out of the driveway and the roads weren't plowed until I came home around 4:15pm. Here's some pictures he took that day:

It doesn't REALLY show how much we have/got but I barely got up and down the hill to work...thought about walking home Wednesday. I cleaned off PLENTY of snow to last me the rest of the year...and thank goodness our landlord got a snow blower last year!!!

First snow storm of 2009...

So...as you all know, we got hit with a LOT of snow this past weekend. Here's what it looked like in Mercer on Saturday... These were taken Sunday morning before church.

This is out our bedroom window looking out the back. Our landlord decided to pack the snow down instead of shovel or plow...that made it REALLY rough to do anything Sunday...don't ask Ron....

Here's another one out the back window...my car buried by a foot of snow. Ron's was fairly clean as he worked Saturday and wasn't here...

Another one of the cars. What's on Ron's was from after he got home around 9pm Saturday night...not much thank goodness!

This is from our front living room window looking down the street. It doesn't look too bad BUT I only heard 2 plows go all day/night Saturday.

The courthouse is still beautiful in the snow no matter what!

It's definitely beautiful to look at. My WONDERFUL husband let me take his car this morning and he dug mine out and scraped the ramp of the driveway so we can actually get in. I'll just say it took us 15-20 minutes to get UP the driveway and back to the spot Sunday night. We weren't happy but Ron was more unhappy than me... Thankfully it was better today and we can get in in one attempt now!
