God's plan...not our's!

So every now and then, God reminds us that we can plan all we want about our lives but in the end, its HIS plan!  This was brought to our attention again on Friday.  As you all know we had been looking for a house this past year and never got a chance to go about a loan, etc...but never "fell in love" with a house either (or decided WHERE to relocate to).  Last Friday, Ron's office had a meeting about several things and they were informed they were moving.  They don't know where yet, still pricing land, building, renting, etc but it would have to be before the 4th quarter next year  - or they wait until 2013.  Had we moved like WE wanted to, we'd be living closer to Ross Township most likely...  they could end up moving further north toward Cranberry, etc.  So that just reminded us that GOD is in control...NOT us!

Then Sunday, we had a speaker and he talked about how we came into this world with nothing and will leave with nothing.  What we have when we are here, is GOD's...we are to do what He directs us to do with it...its not our's to make the decision.  He talked about the fork in the road that we come to... He touched on the farmer who had plenty of crops and decided to build a bigger barn for storage instead of giving to those that needed it.  Then he talked about those that go out as missionaries and those that do His work as He directs..we are full of questions as to how will I learn if I'm not told about Jesus?  Who will tell me if He doesn't send someone?  So we have this decision to make when we come to the fork in the road.  He also gave the illustration of asking if we've ever seen a hearse towing a u-haul.  And you don't..b/c what you have you don't take with you.

Other examples of God showing us (me) that its HIS timing and not mine (our's) is when we had the miscarriage.  To us, we thought it was a great time.  But God had other plans...and He loves babies too!  (Can't wait til the day I get to meet our first child in Heaven!)  Another time was when I hurt my knee in high school playing basketball.  I put all my time and effort into practice and making sure I was a good athlete, etc and God had other plans....I wasn't giving Him the "attention" I was supposed to and not going down the correct "fork" in the road.  While laying in bed, I did a LOT of thinking and praying of what HIS will and plan were for me....not mine.

Just remember....its His plan, not our's...and when something doesn't go according to OUR plan, remember...He has a reason for it.  You won't see it right away, but eventually you'll go "that's why that happened!  Thank you Lord!"

I thank Him daily for all He has provided for us when its NEEDED (not wanted), for our little miracle due in April (who is the size of a mango this week! :)) and for the wonderful family He has blessed both Ron and I with!  Our parents who are there to guide us and encourage us through everything...and (mom and dad) comfort us (me) when needed (thank you for everything!!!).  We love you all!!

Thanks for sharing. Glad you guys can see God working in your lives.

Also mentioned in the sermon was giving up children that become missionaries which hit home for me. I never questioned it when that came up in our lives but never looked at it the way the preacher mentioned on Sunday either. My only advice at the time was that it was between him and God. If he felt the leading to go as we are told to do in the Bible then he should go. Everything has worked out fine in that situation. Obedience is important!
