Here is our porch...after some of the snow melted. That's the charcoal grill with about 1 1/2 feet of snow on top and the glider...on the left... I hated to leave it out all winter...but no basement anymore...
This was the other day....our roof is FLAT...that right above our bedroom window and back door...and you have to SLAM the door to get it to shut...the icicles look deadly to me! Some have already fallen off...just a matter of time when we leave and have to PLOW through our back door.

What if you slammed your door on teh way IN and MADE them fall... I can see your point in trying to leave the house though - there was an episode on some hospital tv show where an ER worker got stabbed by an icicle on the way in the doors. I know, that wasn't very encouraging was it :{ BE CAREFUL!!!
yeah - not REAL encouraging - but oh well. :) hopefully it will SLOWLY MELT.
