Thanksgiving 2010

So I'm a little slow getting these up...I apologize.  I braved hosting Thanksgiving this year and LOVE EVERY MINUTE of it! :)  I hope I can do it again next year...I don't think mom will complain!!!  But...that house would be nice...hehe

Any who...both sets of parents, Jen, Mike and Grandma joined Ron and I here in Mercer for Thanksgiving.  The only thing that "went wrong" was the turkey wasn't done when I planned but that only set us back from eating on time by 1/2 hr.  Not bad for the first time.  I have lots of wonderful help from Mom, Jen, Linda, and Grandma! :)  We had turkey (free range (and free) from Ron's sister), stuffing (first time making it), noodles, mashed potatoes, orange jello salad, applesauce, bread, wine, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, banana bread, deviled eggs, um....think that's it...there was a LOT of food.  And not a TON of leftovers but still quite a bit.  Jen was awesome and brought the banana bread and eggs and did a great job with the pies!  She made a pumpkin pie and an apple/cranberry pie.  Both very good!  Her first time making pumpkin pie (well, both) and they came out great!  Linda brought the noodles (Cosgrove tradition), and mom made her famous orange jello salad (which ALWAYS tastes better than mine!). I told Grandma not to make anything! :)  She didn't need to anyway!

As you can see, I got decorations and everything.  I did great with the bargain too!  I got all the decorations, including the placemats and wine glasses at Pat Catan's 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and spent about $35.  MOST of that were the wine glasses.  I SAVED $85!!!  I was soooooo happy when I saw that on the receipt!  It pays to procrastinate!  hehe  I had on the votive candles about 5 Bible verses that had to do with Thanksgiving.  They were all different for each person except one that I really liked:  1 Corinthians 1:4
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

So, here are the pictures!

I pray each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We missed the siblings that could not be here but blesses by those that could join Ron and I!

We love you all!

It was a nice Thanksgiving, thank you and I enjoyed the "Jonah" video! I thought she had notes but it looks like she memorized all of it.
