Five Years...

It's hard to believe 5 years ago we got married! This week I kept thinking back to what I was doing the week of, how I felt, and what was left to be done! As I write this, I was at the church getting ready to marry my best friend! Some pictures were being taken and I remember just wanting to see Ron more than anything at that point. People say girls always dream of their wedding day, but I never did until we were engaged!

There were times the planning was stressful and overwhelming but in the end it all turned out well and beautiful! My favorite part of the day was the carriage ride up main street with my new husband...my best friend!

Each day I'm thankful God gave me Ron and look forward to what is in store for us as we continue our lives together.

Thank you for all you've done and been there for, Ron. Happy 5th Anniversary sweetheart! I love you!!!

How does your garden grow?

I got our garden planted last Saturday - such a BEAUTIFUL day!!! The Friday before I went to Pam's Nursery and got the plants.

Lettuce (that came up on it's own from last year!)

Cabbage

Cauliflower

purple pansies and red somethings (don't remember...thought they looked orange and cool!) :)

Broccoli

Chives...that have been up for awhile now!

12 tomato plants

The whole garden

Green peppers and onions

Cucumbers

Now....hopefully everything grows this year and we have an abundance of veggies!!! MMMMMM!

Freak Storm...and my plants...

So...I experienced a REALLY weird/freaky storm last night...alone....as Ron was driving home in it! :(

I was sitting at my computer playing a game and it starts storming and the lights dim so I tell our friends I'm playing with that I may drop b/c of the storm. Zelda was going crazy, acting really weird and I thought she was just being goofy and not liking the lightning. Nope...it was b/c of what came next. The winds picked up A LOT and then TONS of hail came down. I heard a HUGE noise and wasn't sure what it was and wasn't totally sure the hail was hail - at first I thought a wire broke and was hitting our windows/front of the building. I couldn't see out the windows, I was afraid to get near them b/c I couldn't see what was going on outside either. Then I didn't know if there was a tornado coming or what was to come next. I just prayed for Ron and anyone else driving at that time and to keep everyone safe...and direct me to what I should do. I'm running back and forth in the apartment, kitty's under the bed hiding. Ron finally gets home and we're both shaking and happy to be with each other. Neither car was damaged but there are leaves everywhere and we still have a wind advisory for today. We never lost power either. It just rained again and just stopped not too long ago. I can definitely say I don't want to experience anything like that again....and definitely not alone. Oh and, Ron said he saw some REALLY weird lightning strikes as he was driving...at 20 mph...over by the prison. When he went to work today he said a barn right outside of Mercer is just rubble. Mom and Dad said they talked to grandma and she said she saw last night on TV that there was a tornado spotted between Hermitage and Mercer. I believe it......just glad it didn't touch down or do anything!

The WEIRDEST part was this:
That's a street sign....face down....on the sidewalk. That was the huge noise I heard when the hail struck. Ron said there was SO much water it could've done that...but yet across the street, the crosswalk signs that have no weight to them whatsoever are still standing where they belong. Really???
The temperature dropped 20 some degrees in less than an hour. It was cooled off by the time the second cell came through around 1am from when Ron got home around 12am.

Here's what things looked like this morning:

Can't see real well but there's a lot of leaves on the court house lawn...

This was out back - you can see the still dark sky and the trees blowing - wind advisory today til 11pm.

All the leaves in our driveway...

more leaves....everywhere!

see the stuff knocked over that Ted has outback with all the leaves by our cars

The tree on the corner had leaves covering it....now it's just about bare! But all the other trees still have most their leaves...

different angle of the leafless tree.

I didn't know where she was as I was getting laundry this morning. I moved her one toy that jingles and she normally comes running. I went to look for her and this is what I found....out cold! She's currently sleeping on Ron's chair beside me....with her paw over her eyes to block the light.

Yesterday afternoon I ran some errands, went to mom and dad's to take care of their plants and then went to Pam's nursery to get some veggies and flowers. I got tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, peppers and 3 or 4 different flowers. It's $2 for a pack of veggies or flowers or $15 for a flat. We exchanged services (Ron put a new power supply in for her the other week) so I only spent about $13 I think...would've been about $34 for what I got...which I thought was a good deal. She has TONS of stuff out there....it's completely packed and they now have some trees and bushes I believe. There's things outside the greenhouse. She's selling brown eggs too.

I was afraid these were toast after the nasty hail but the tomatoes are still standing and only one set of flowers look iffy but they'll probably come back. Our chives are already going crazy and our lettuce is up! :)

Hope no one else got hit with the weird storm we had last night and everyone is safe!
